Android doubletwist flac1/9/2024 If the files are local, CloudPlayer will detect artwork even if it's not embedded as long as it's in the same folder, but we don't yet do that for cloud folders. The missing artwork you experienced can happen if you don't have embedded artwork in your cloud files. Once it's done you won't have to ever do it again as subsequent scans are just library changes, which are much smaller and faster. On the plus side, this is a one-time pain. You'd need to send us your logs immediately after it happens if we're to extract any useful info by going to Settings > Send Log Files.Īs far as the first-time import speed goes, this is completely normal: CloudPlayer is not just a "cloud file browser" and extracts metadata from every single track in your library (artwork, album & track info, etc.) This can take 2-3 seconds per file so if you have thousands of files we strongly recommend you do it overnight over WiFi while you're charging your phone. We haven't had it reported before but it sounds like it could be related to Doze or some similar process that puts your WiFi or network access to sleep. We'll definitely need to look at your logs for the playback issue you reported with the screen off. I definitely suggest you join our private beta group for early access to features as well as occasional promos, etc. Having said that, when we first launched CloudPlayer last year, we offered it at a deep discount to all of our beta users and we've also handed out hundreds of free unlock codes to Redditors who helped us with feedback. Call it "cloud phobia" if you want, but it's very real thanks to the ridiculous prices Verizon and others are charging per GB of data use :) Also, many users are VERY concerned with mobile data use and don't want their player to bundle cloud features, even if they don't use them. doubleTwist Classic is designed for cases where the "master" library stays on the phone or is managed by the user on the desktop (through iTunes, etc.)Ĭombining the two would be be a recipe for disaster, with many complex use case scenarios, and prone to many bugs.CloudPlayer is designed as a Google Play Music alternative, capable of storing the "master" music library in the cloud. In fact, early on we had considered combining both apps into a single "Mega-app", but it was not feasible: It would be very rare for someone to be using BOTH CloudPlayer and doubleTwist Classic as they address two completely different use cases. SIGN UP TO TEST: If you'd like to give it a try, you can sign up for the Play Store alpha. Missing features that are planned for a future release: gapless, crossfade, podcast support, UPnP/DLNA support, AirPlay video support.
